9 Doll from film Hand made

Update 01/03/2012 : Today the Wood box for the "9 doll" is being painted with acrylic varnish to give the final touch , Wednesday is the big day for my nephew when he will receive his Christmas wrapped gift the : "9 Doll replica hand Made" ...
Personally i enjoy making it cause it represents a challenge & I know i can be very crafty sometimes... could be done better but really needed more time ...just hope the kid enjoy it and take care of it and he can say its the coolest gift ever ... picture pending ...



Update 01/01/2012 : Finally! .... 9 doll replica is finished...
1.- hands made out of clay and metallic hair clamps

2.- Alder wood feet attached and painted

3.- For the lamp I had to use a christmas light bulb cause is a little bit more resistant than the transparent one and theres a hidden circuit inside the doll under the zipper with a two 1.5 volt batteries and wires run trough the arm so you can conect the lamp to the wire that comes out from the hand & can be activated via a push button (on/off) inside the doll's chest ,inside the light bulb there's a yellow LED light that only blinks like .5 seconds NOT permanently (this helps for battery life saving )

4.- I print the Scientist Diaries wich contains info about the creation of the nine creatures in the film ... you can find this info at the 9 Scientist Facebook page here:

I though it could be cool for the kid to read it and be more interactive...

5.- I made a Box made out of wood same size to fit the 9 doll, it even has a door with the number 9 on front

(The replica is 1 Feet 4 inches tall just in case someone wants to know)


Update dec 29 2011 : Feet attached & clay hand model almost done for shaping and paint . (working on the lamp)

as a petition of my sister for my 6 yr old Nephew for Christmas ... but Im still working on the Feet and Hands ...
